The Red Colour Trend Series

Everyone who is interested in fashion at some point begins to realise, that in the age of postmodernism, and 'fast' fashion with collections of Zara or H&M changing every two weeks, what the designers create doesn't have that much influence on what we wear anymore (it's even more the other way round). However, the word 'trend' still seems to hold its magic.

For my Final Major Project, I decided to create a series about a colour trend (to be expanded to others later?), and explore illustrating more than womenswear. The idea was for the series to exist within the context of  POINT 01, a project from LCF that I worked on this year.

You can see the rest of the series on MY WEBSITE.

Cannot really decide whether it's finished or not, but maybe that is just the nature of it:)
Inspired by the photograph taken by beautiful Hanneli Mustaparta.

ACNE AW11/12 + Rusałki

Hello! Today I am posting one of my favourite pieces from the ACNE project, this time with some reference to a Slavic folktale about Rusałki, beautiful, transparent water and forest nymphs seducing men to kill them in the depths of the lake. In this project we were supposed to spice up our lookbooks with a chosen tale - I didn't want to exaggerate with the 'folkiness' so I just did a little expriment with the printed background (photo taken in Epping Forest:)). I may do more of it in the future! What do you think?

And here is another, catwalk one.

ACNE AW 11/12

Little preview of my for a retrospective Acne AW 11/12 illustrated lookbook. More to follow soon.

Prada - Detail - 2011

Detail from my illustration of one of the pieces from the Prada's iconic SS 11 collection. I spent a loong time on this pineapple print (all these thin lines are brush and ink... o.0)!! Enjoy!

NINA DE YORK 2011 - Comme des Garcons

Again one of the Nina De York Illustrations - this time Comme des Garcons.
I have to admit this series is sometimes pretty inconsistent in terms of style, but oh well, I still like them:)

NINA DE YORK 2011 - Max Mara

Again one of my finals from the competition - this time it's, I think, Max Mara, based on the picture from the amazing BON magazine.

NINA DE YORK 2011 - Miu Miu

Ohhh do you remember that beautiful Miu Miu Collection? The shapes, the collars, the prints! It was definitely my favourite last year... This is another of Nina de York Illustrations, more to follow.

NINA DE YORK 2011 - Versace

This is an illustration of a Versace skirt and top (I think its SS11) that I did for the Nina de York Fashion Illustration Award that I was a finalist of last year.
